It was a groundbreaking innovation in the genre. Even today, most games of this kind are based on developments and inventions from “Doom”.

Baron: This golden medal features the face of the Baron of Hell, one of the strongest and nastiest demons. In the game, it usually appears in pairs, which is why it is also known to players as one of the Bruiser Brothers

Cacodemon: The demon on the silver medal might be the best known, as it is the mascot of the first game and appears often. The strange-sounding name derives from Greek and means “evil spirit”.

Pinky: The bronze medal is adorned by another creature that gave some young gamers nightmares in the 90s. Despite this – or perhaps because of it – it was given the cute nickname “Pinky”, which was used as the official name in 2016’s “Doom”.
