Step into the role of the multi-talented genius
Leonardo da Vinci! The good man didn't only work as painter, sculptor, architect, anatomist and natural philosopher but also as an engineer (strange that he stayed rather poor all of his life with so many jobs!). While working out how to fly and how to traverse underwater,
il Maestro was also busily engaged in improving catapults and other cool things.
The part always has a tendency to reunite with its whole in order to escape from its imperfection.
Da Vinci Catapult
Because a full-size catapult would be too heavy for normal dispatch – even divided into pieces – we decided to offer this scale model so you can recreate a da Vinci catapult yourself.
50 wooden pieces are supplied to successfully construct this fully working and true to scale catapult. Then you can fire small objects at whatever or whoever you wish (within a 4,5 metre firing range). But please, have a heart – don't make the office cat suffer... It's not the old moggy's fault your boss made you work late! Nor did he steal anything of yours from the fridge (well, not without an accomplice, anyway).
This high value set contains
illustrated instructions in English (as a future genius, language doesn't matter to you, and of course it's only the pictures that count, right?). Glue, string, screws and little clay balls for firing are also included in the pack to build the 41 x 25 x 16cm big model.
Da Vinci Aerial Screw
This kit is absolutely stunning! More than 60 parts need to be attached to each other, some need glue (included). Da Vinci originally assumed that the machine would screw-like bore into the air and fly, similar to (much more lighter) maple seeds.
This set contains
multilingual, illustrated instructions (including English) to recreate da Vincis not working but yet brillant idea as a model (approx. 16,1 x 19,1 x 35cm big)!
Da Vinci Bridge
This model completely works without glue! The components support each other, so that no additional fixation is necessary. However, putting them on each other requires some practice. Originally, this idea was designed primarily for military purposes, but it is unknown if somebody really built such a bridge.
This set contains
multilingual, illustrated instructions (including English) to put together the 16 pieces. The bridge is small! The built-up size is approx. 85 x 105 x 24,5mm.
This da Vinci Kits make an interesting present for older children (under 12 years will need help from an adult) and for seniors too – those who enjoy challenging their minds. And, of course, it's also got its educational aspect, helping to introduce youngsters to one of history's greatest ever geniuses.
